Tell Us About Yourself ...
I'm a wife, mom and stepmom in charge of five kids. I'm a Project Manager by day and a part-time college student by night (studying Marketing & Communications). I'm also a full-time mommy hanging out at golf tournaments, football games, soccer scrimmages, gymnastic practice, dance rehearsal, PTO meetings, school field trips and much, much more. In my spare time I like to sleep.
Tell Us About Your Family ...
I have been married to Lee for over 11 years and we have five kids. Justis (my stepson) is 16 and driving (hold me). Keaton is 14 and studying for his driving permit (hold me tighter). My only girl, Skyler, and her twin brother, Spencer are 9. And the baby, Caleb, is 6.

Be The Dinosaur at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids

The Science Station in Cedar Rapids is still closed to due this summer's flooding, but that's not stopping them from bringing science to local kids. They are having their first post-flood exhibit, Be The Dinosaur, at the Lindale Mall (4444 First Ave. NE). It opened in late September and will continue through December 31st. Admission is just $5 for children and $6 for adults. Support the Science Station and take your kids out to Lindale for the exhibit.… Continue

Flood Videos

It has only been three months since the flood water devoured our city and many people are still recovering. But families have started to rebuild and businesses are starting to reopen. Although it will be years before we fully recover, Cedar Rapidians are starting to get back to normal.

As reminders of how strong we are and all that we have and can endure, the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce and the University of Iowa have created some very touching videos about the flood.

Just a comment. My husband and I are Baby
Boomers. My husband manages about twenty people. Neither of us would have our staff put work over family. Not all Baby Boomers are uncaring enough to treat our employees this way. I have a son who could do this. His father my ex-husband is this way. My thought is it is personality with him NOT generational. I had not thought much about it. Are'nt we Baby Boomers also the Peace Movement make Love Not War generation.
I am NOT trying to be confrontational. I mentor a young women ( single working mom) this will be something I ask her about.

Hi, Christine! Thanks for adding me! I read some of your blog and really enjoyed it--made me laugh!! I student taught at Kennedy in 1985 and got married in Cedar Rapids, so it's kind of fun to talk to someone from there.
